Year of the Dragon

2024: (The Year of The Dragon)

The Year of the Dragon is upon us. The mystical creature is at the root of many tales and has been portrayed in countless ways. These paintings are an attempt to capture as many different aspects of the creature as possible within the group. Combining a mix of Western paper, inks, and watercolours with the Asian design elements that the artist has been studying for over 15 years, as well as Sharing knowledge with oriental artists, visits to museums and temples in Japan and Taiwan and studying paintings and prints from masters of the material help with forming a large body of work that appears fresh and authentic. For those who missed the opportunity to view the series that Jordie Doubt painted for this occasion at Galerie Pellegrini in February another opportunity was had. 47 Dragons and several smaller works were on display at Restaurant Kollektiv Hirscheneck in Basel from the 28th of September until the 03rd of November.  For exhibition inquieries or to purchase a painting please contact per e-mail or telephone.
